Queensland Clinical Guidelines (QCG) is pleased to advise that the following new/reviewed guidelines/monograph (NeoMedQ) have been published at www.health.qld.gov.au/qcg. Please review attached memo.

  • Peer review: Vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC). Guideline number MN26.12-V6-R31

Amendments have been made to the following clinical guideline and NeoMedQ.

  • Term gestational age newborn baby (Guideline number MN22.16-V7-R27)
  • NeoMedQ: Noradrenaline (NMedQ21.073-V2-R26)
  • NeoMedQ: Levetiracetam (NMedQ21.071-V2-R26)

 

Printed copies should be replaced. For further implementation suggestions, see QCG implementation checklist.

All guidelines are endorsed by the Statewide Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Network. The monographs have been endorsed by the Queensland Neonatal Services Advisory Group. The QCG Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance guideline is currently under review. In the interim, prolonged pregnancy of “> 41 weeks” as a risk factor for continuous electronic fetal monitoring should be interpreted as meaning greater than 41+6 weeks gestational age.

Queensland Clinical Guidelines (QCG) is currently seeking expressions of interest from clinicians and consumers interested in participating in the review of the guideline: Care of pregnant women who are living in larger bodies (including post bariatric surgery).

A draft guideline will be developed by QCG in collaboration with the co-clinical leads:

  • Professor Leonie Callaway, Director of Research, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital
  • Associate Professor Susan de Jersey, Advanced Dietitian, Dietetics and Foodservices, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital; Assistant Director, Prevention Strategy Branch Population Health Division, Queensland Health
  • Dr Rachael Nugent, Staff Specialist, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sunshine Coast University Hospital

The purpose of the working party is to provide expert opinion on a draft guideline over 12–16 weeks. Consultation is primarily via email. Group meetings or teleconference will be held if required. Please express your interest in participating in this working party by completing the online registration form by COB Monday 2nd February 2026.
