Core Business : As a membership organisation, AMA Queensland provides dedicated and ongoing professional representation through support, leadership, promotion and advocacy for the advancement of the medical profession at all stages of their career.
Mission/purpose: We exist to provide dedicated and ongoing professional representation to our members through support, leadership, promotion and advocacy to advance the medical profession at all stages of their career and in doing so strengthen the health system for the benefit of all Queenslanders.
Vision: AMA Queensland is the peak representative association of medical professionals incorporating strong commercial partnerships and with a united substantial and significant membership that is highly respected by internal and external stakeholders.

Role of Director
AMA Queensland Directors carry certain responsibilities additional to those of councillor, including financial overview of the organisation:
- Each member of the Board of Directors must comply with all obligations and duties imposed on them as director of the Association under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
- The Board of Directors must carry out the general policy of the Association and generally administer the affairs of the Association in compliance with this Constitution, the By-Laws & represent the Association on all matters of policy with government or other bodies or persons.
- The Board of Directors may exercise all powers and do all things which the Association may do which are not required by any statute, this Constitution or the By-Laws to be exercised or done by a general meeting or any other person(s).
