The Australian Medical Association of Queensland is the State's peak medical representative body and represents more than 6,000 Queensland doctors. Nationally, the Australian Medical Association represents over 29,000 doctors, ranging from residents and registrars through to public and private specialists and general practitioners.

AMA Queensland is here to assist members through the secretariat who specialise in workplace relations, media and public relations, lobbying campaigns, and policy development for the betterment of the medical profession.

AMA Queensland also actively campaigns for the rights of patients, better services in the public system, guaranteed freedom of choice in the private system and the right to access high quality medical services.

AMA Queensland’s Health Vision is based on the principles of trust, knowledge and compassion. We aim to work with doctors and all levels of government to improve the efficiency, transparency and accountability of the Queensland health system.
