The current AMA Queensland President is Dr Gino Pecoraro who is an Obstetrician &
Gynaecologist in Brisbane with vast experience in the private and public health systems.

Dr Pecoraro works as
a senior visiting obstetrician at many private and public hospitals around Brisbane and also runs a private practice on Wickham Terrace.
He is actively involved in undergraduate and registrar teaching including being a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Queensland and Assistant Professor at Bond University. He is a senior examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and also a senior examiner with the Australian Medical Council. During Dr Pecoraro’s registrar training he was the inaugural registrar attached to the “Flying Obstetrician & Gynaecologist” service based in Roma.
Dr Pecoraro served on AMA Queensland’s branch council from 2002 -2006 and was a member of the Executive from 2004-2006 and is also the current secretary for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
 
One of Dr Pecoraro’s main ambitions during his term as Queensland President is to bring honesty back to medicine. Through this honesty AMA Queensland can and will remain the premier voice for doctors working to improve healthcare delivery to all Queensland patients. He also hopes to focus on issues such as Men’s Health and bringing more support to doctors in rural/regional areas.
Dr Pecoraro is looking forward to developing strong working relationships with Government and other key stakeholders and working hard with these groups to achieve positive outcomes for patients and the profession.
