About the Australian Medical Association Queensland

The Australian Medical Association of Queensland is the State's peak medical representative body and represents more than 5,670 Queensland doctors. Nationally, the Australian Medical Association represents over 27,000 doctors, ranging from residents and registrars through to public and private specialists and general practitioners.

AMA Queensland is here to assist members through the secretariat who specialise in workplace relations, media and public relations, lobbying campaigns, and policy development for the betterment of the medical profession.

AMA Queensland is also is an active campaigner for the rights of patients, better services in the public system, guaranteed freedom of choice in the private system, and the right to retain access to Australia's high standards of medicine.
